Capital Campaign

Phase II of the Fulfill the Promise campaign is drawing to a close. The restoration of our Parish Hall, originally constructed in 1941, is almost complete. Last year a new sound system and wall sconces were added. This summer, magnificent new pendant fixtures have been installed, all the windows have been refurbished or replaced, the rafters cleaned and the ceiling painted.

In the not so distant past, our large community hall has been used for musical programs, plays and speakers' series that entertain and enlighten parishioners and the community. Now that our facility has been restored and refurbished, we can begin partnering with nearby institutions such as the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, San Francisco State University and civic and social groups. Once again we can provide our community with plays and concerts, music and dance recitals, practice hall, topical speakers, movie and discussion programs.

The third and final phase of the Fulfill the Promise campaign, the updating of our 1940's kitchen will begin in earnest in the next few months. A new commercial Wolf range has already been purchased and installed. An exhaust hood has also been ordered and will be installed sometime this fall. Our original wish list had called for new counters, cabinets, sinks, appliances, lighting, electrical and flooring. That may be a more ambitious list than our remaining capital funds will allow.

The final plan and budget for the kitchen restoration has yet to be complete. The "kitchen committee" has begun working on the plan and a preliminary budget. Please look for future updates, or better yet, if you wish to contribute your kitchen planning expertise contact The Rev. Carter, Kathy Capp or Sally Balton about joining the committee.

To date, the Fulfill the Promise Campaign has received pledges totaling approximately $396,000, with about $95,000 in pledges still outstanding. Thank-you for your continued support, faith and interest in this tremendously important endeavor. Your individual Fulfill the Promise statements will be going out at the end of August. Please go over your statements for accuracy, if there is a discrepancy, please contact Fred Dick.
